Job description

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Act as the subject matter expert and custodian for SAP MM/WM and related applications within the MM/WM domain, including supporting utilities, peripheral systems, and cross-module integrations
  • Ensure effective Service Level Management, adhering to agreed service levels between Information Management (IM) and business stakeholders
  • Proactively identify system bottlenecks and drive resolution across SAP MM/WM and associated systems
  • Manage maintenance and development initiatives end-to-end, including exploration, business case development, approval, planning, design, configuration, testing, and implementation
  • Communicate system and process changes effectively to users and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure strict adherence to established standards, governance, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and quality of SAP MM/WM support within ArcelorMittal South Africa
  • Engage with third-party vendors, including quotation evaluation and approval management
  • Actively participate in and support the introduction and adoption of modern and emerging technologies
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with legal, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with other ArcelorMittal business units on global SAP MM/WM initiatives and activities
  • Deliver training and enablement to SAP MM users, covering system usage, best practices, and advanced functionality
  • Perform SAP configuration and implementation activities as required
  • Manage demand within the SAP MM/WM domain, including prioritisation and alignment with business needs
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for system enhancements and new developments
  • Maintain and enhance a solutions knowledge base to improve turnaround time for maintenance and support issues
  • Participate in Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and other local or global expert forums
  • Deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose, reusable, and maintainable solutions within agreed timelines and with minimal rework
  • Continuously update knowledge through self-learning and industry awareness, including best practices, trends, and cloud-based services
  • Contribute to the reduction of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for ArcelorMittal South Africa
  • Proactively reduce operational and system risk exposure
  • Provide on-call / call-out support when required
  • Manage and control change requests and demand requests, including order book maintenance
  • Maintain and improve customer satisfaction through reliable, responsive, and value-driven service delivery

 

Minimum requirements

Qualifications & requirements

  •        B. Degree in Computer Science or relevant qualification. HNB, B-tech, M-diploma (NQF 7/10)
  •        plus 24 months structured development program
  •       SAP HCM Certification would be advantageous
