ArcelorMittal is recruiting for a Manager to join the Payroll within the Finance department. The purpose of the role is
to manage the payroll function and ensure all payroll activities are executed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Job description
Responsibilities & requirements
• Perform the full ArcelorMittal payroll function according to company procedures.
• Develop, implement and review payroll SOP according to company and legislative requirements.
• Accountable for monthly salary (approx.6000 employees) preparation and payment.
• Accountable as to ensure that all new recruits, terminations, movements and transfers are processed according to company procedures and within agreed timelines.
• Manage time and attendance system.
• Accountable for the payment of T&S to employees is processed according to company procedures and within agreed timelines.
• Accountable for all monthly salary journals including annual salary and bonus budget and resulting provisions thereof are processed according to company procedures and within agreed timelines
• Accountable for all Third-Party payments and processes according to company procedures and within agreed timelines.
• Accurate and complete EMP201 monthly submissions to SARS.
• IRP5 Bi-Annual and annual submission to SARS.
• Managing Third Party appointment with SARS.
• UIF declaration submissions to the Department of Labour.
• Accountable for the completion and submission of payroll statutory reporting.
• Accountable for the correct process and issuing of employee payslips indicating earnings and deductions according to company procedures and within agreed timelines.
• Accountable for the processing of all leave in payroll according to company procedures and within agreed timelines.
• Responsible for issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases
• Accountable for the timely and accurate resolution of all payroll queries in line with Company procedures, and for the preparation and provision of payroll reports and related information as required.
• Preform internal audits as and when required e.g. over-time hours booked and ensure correctness.
• Advise employees with time related matters i.e. maternity leave, sick leave, according to company policies and procedures.
• Ensuring that the optimal Service Levels are achieved.
• Resolving queries and complaints to the satisfaction of the clients.
• Ensure new requirements are tested correctly and transports are in production in time according to company process and DOA approvals
• Feedback and follow-up on queries and complaints.
• Initiate and sustain key relations with the business and build on the good reputation and image of the company and secures future growth and profitability.
• Establish and maintain good trust relations with all stakeholders.
• Actively participate in all people development initiatives linked to the HR Strategy including but not limited to: performance management; succession planning; talent management; change, process optimization and engagement initiatives etc. to ensure the team’s performance meets the required standards.
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers / team members / managers) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions when enquired to ensure achievement of organizational goals
• Provide relevant and specialized technical support, where required, to peers and colleagues to ensure the achievement of objectives.
• All duties are performed according to the AMSA Health & Safety guidelines and procedures.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications & requirement
• B. Degree/ HND/ B. Tech/ M. Diploma (NQF 7/10) plus preferably a Management Develop Program
• Payroll diploma/certificate will be advantageous
• Minimum 10 years payroll or similar experience
• Advanced excel skills
• Good knowledge of the full SAP PY and FI environment and understanding of the interaction between the different SAP modules
• Good knowledge of statutory and legal regulations
• Numerical literacy
