Job description

  • Supervision of a shift team at Iron Making.
  • Ensure plant availability according to set standards.
  • Responsible for manpower management, including manpower planning, overtime management etc.
  • Safety Management (total safety system, investigations, audits, test books and equipment).
  • Environmental and risk management.
  • Training of subordinates (manuals, audits etc.).
  • Quality assurance (inspections, audits and corrective actions).
  • Communication with personnel from other sections and related functions to ensure optimized productivity.
  • Continuous Improvement of work methods and productivity.
  • Good metallurgical knowledge of Blast Furnace operations and yield optimization.
  • Efficient maintenance teamwork and support.

Minimum requirements

Qualification:
  • National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering
  • Structured Junior Manager Development Program
Experience and Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years relevant plant experience
  • Computer literate in MS programs.
  • SAP system experience.
  •
