Job description
· Reduction in Total Cost of Ownership of Solid Fuels.
· Develop and manage local and import supply plans aligned with business process demands, supply trends, and logistics availability.
· Execute AMSA coke balance & local coal balance according to AMSA plant requirements.
· Execute import coke vessel planning whenever required.
· Identify new and alternative raw material sources and development opportunities.
· Negotiate and manage procurement contracts to ensure value delivery and compliance.
· Maintain effective working relationships with external customers and suppliers to assess and improve procurement quality.
· Contribute to the strategic vision for Solid Fuels Management.
· Ensure contract management excellence through monitoring and analysis of risks, stakeholder involvement, service delivery, performance, price variation, cost drivers, contract spend, and innovation.
· Optimize sourcing through data modeling and analysis including spend analysis, total cost of ownership, value driver trees, and rationalization techniques.
· Lead and execute sourcing strategies including bidding processes, evaluation, contract negotiation, SLA establishment, supplier relationship management, and contract monitoring.
· Manage and mitigate commercial, technical, and supply risks through early identification of market and supplier performance trends.
· Efficiently manage all contract requests in alignment with business priorities.
· Ensure a competitive sourcing environment that drives continuous improvement in quality, cost, and service.
· Contribute to internal process and SOP improvements to enhance procurement excellence.
· Maintain market expertise including analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, and competitive landscape.
· Evaluate commercial scenarios using cost modeling, quotation analysis, and supplier selection models.
· Support supply initiatives including cost reductions, JIT, lead-time reductions, and favorable payment terms.
· Promote increased participation of in-country supply base and maintain supplier relationships.
Continuously review strategy effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
Minimum requirements
Qualifications & requirements
· Relevant B. Degree in Engineering, B.com Supply Chain, Procurement or Finance
· 8 years of experience
· Experience in supply chain environment with an in-depth knowledge of commodity supplier base of a steel manufacturing process company or ArcelorMittal Procurement and Logistics.
· In-depth understanding of Coking coals, non-coking coals & Coke market drivers.
· Relevant commodity management concept and intimate knowledge of international commodity trading markets.
· Plant experience relating to the management and consumption of raw materials would be an advantage.
· Strong analytical, financial, and planning skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
· Familiarity with global sourcing tools and indices (e.g., Platts, TSI).
· Proven ability to solve complex problems, manage contracts, and influence stakeholders.
· Experience in project management, contract language, and commercial risk balancing.
· Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.
· Strong teamwork, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
· Commercial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
