Job description

Responsibilities & requirements
 

                          Ensure availability of above areas within budget constraints.

                          Prepare and present budget and take responsibility for Production cost control

                          Actively driving continuous improvement and identifying cost saving ideas.

                          Failure analysis (RCA) and implementation of successful solutions.

                          Managing training requirements for complete section and ensuring competency of subordinates as far                      as managerial, technical and safety is concerned.

                          Coach and develop supervisory levels and high potential candidates

                          Develop and maintain a maintenance and operational strategy for Scrap Supply

                          Management of operations in compliance with ISO standards

                          Management of contractors

                          Manage BOF and HM Handling (managers with shift teams, technical team, planning department and                        contractors) successfully

Responsible for shift (team) perform

Minimum requirements

Qualifications & requirements
 

                          Applicable B Degree/HND/B Tech/M Diploma NQF 7/10 plus preferable a Management Development                       Program

                          Mechanical/Metallurgical

                          Minimum 10 years relevant experience

                          Management experience in planning activities

                          Confident with the use and implementation of Safety Systems, and ISO management systems

                          Knowledge of SHERQ and FPS systems

                          Management of Capital and other projects

                          Thorough knowledge of Industrial Relations and Union Management
