Job description

  • Supervision of a shift team
  • Ensure plant availability according to set standards
  • Responsible for manpower management, including manpower planning and overtime management
  • Safety (total safety system, investigations, audits, test books and equipment)
  • Train subordinates and other team members
  • Quality assurance (inspections, audits and corrective actions)
  • Communication with personnel from other sections and related functions to ensure optimized productivity
  • Continuous improvement of work methods and productivity
  • Efficient maintenance teamwork and support
  • Initiate and co-ordinate improvement projects
  • Develop and maintain maintenance systems to address true section needs and to ensure systems are in accordance with corporate standards
  • Control budget and expenditure

Minimum requirements

Qualification:
  • National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Production Management, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering.

Experience and Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a production environment.
  • Complete understanding and knowledge of SAP EAM / PM and SAP financial systems.
  • Microsoft office - Excel, Projects, PowerPoint.
  • Understanding the production process and quality parameters
