Job description
- Assist tax department with all tax related matters, including mineral royalties tax calculation and diesel rebates.
- Ensure that internal controls and governance are in place to eliminate any critical audit findings and/or risks.
- Monthly costs meetings with internal stakeholders to control costs and to discuss forecast requirements.
- Assisting external auditors with financial information during interim and year-end audits.
- Assisting internal auditors with internal audits related to area of responsibility.
- Assistance with yearly insurance renewal submission.
- Manage financial accounting processes i.e. debtors, creditors, general ledger, and all queries related to that.
- Management accounting activities and related reports (R/ton calculations, stock re-valuations, allocation of costs to relevant activities; etc.)
- Review and co-ordinate Shared Services activities.
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure correctness.
- Forecasting.
- Review and manage Commercial property rental contracts (secondary assets, i.e. buildings, land, etc.)
- Ensure that all procurement policies are adhered to.
- Procurement activities related to operational procurement (Buying sections) (issuing of RFQ, comparisons, evaluations, negotiations and purchase order processing).
- Procurement activities related to procurement contracting process (issue of tenders, comparisons, evaluations, negotiations, contract approvals and contract drafting and placement)
- Procurement activities related to capital procurement.
- Warehouse and inventory management with related logistics management.
- Maintaining all fixed asset registers.
- Scrap sales, auctions and reclamation of redundant assets, inventory and infrastructure.
- Information management co-ordinator (availability of IM systems and hardware).
- Ensure that safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Carry 2.6.1. legal appointment with the DMRE for area of responsibility.
- Relieving as Senior Manager (Mine Manager) as requested from time to time.
Minimum requirements
Qualification:
- B.Com Accounting Science (NQF 7/10)
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in Finance and / or Supply Chain
- Valid drivers license (Code 8 / EB)
- Computer literate, MS Office, SAP, Hyperion Financial System
- Accounting policies (GAAP & IFRS)
- Knowledge of Corporate Governance Codes
