Job description

  • Support design and implementation of a geotechnical strategy
  • Support site-wide geotechnical modelling
  • Ensure on-going data collection is both fit-for-purpose and meets necessary industry and Standards for QA/QC
  • Support measurements, analysis, reconciliation and reporting of geotechnical activities and quality 
  • Support the implementation of projects within planned timescales and budgets
  • Support the investigation of effective opportunities to mitigate fall of ground (FOG) risk
  • Ensures compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices
  • Support maintenance of relationships with internal stakeholders

Minimum requirements

  • Qualification and Certification Requirements:
    • Minimum of National Diploma in Geo Technology (NQF6)
    • Mineral Council Reck Mechanics Certificate (RMS)

    Experience and Requirements:
    Minimum of 5 years experience in geotechnicial engineering including the following aspects:
    • Geotechnical specific data acquisition and database management
    • Slope design and risk assessment (proficient in numerical modelling techniques and relevant software packages)
    • Operational experience 
    • In possession of a Valid Driver’s license Code 08/EB
    • Medically Fit to work
    • Computer Literate and comfortable working in all MS Office apps
