Job description
- Develop and maintain plant availability through AMSA programs and processes.
- Independent technical problem solving in the Electrical Systems and Instrumentation Level 0 and 1 areas.
- Provide support to Plant Maintenance.
- Perform RCAs and subsequent post-mortem activities.
- Actively involved with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- CAPEX and OPEX projects management.
- Ensure projects comply with ArcelorMittal standards and business needs
- Develop and maintain technical training systems
- Responsible for SHERQ, work related
- Perform standby duty.
- Updating of electrical drawings and schematics
Minimum requirements
Qualification:
- National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Electrical Engineering
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 18 months relevant experience.
- Process knowledge of the cold rolling environment.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the power systems ranging from 380V to 11KV.
- Extensive knowledge of the AC rotating machines such as synchronous motors and inductions motors.
- Extensive knowledge of the DC rotating machines such as DC motors and DC Generators.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the switch gears and MCCs.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the breakers ranging from 380V to 11KV.
- Sound knowledge of the SANS 10142 standards.
- Sound knowledge of low, medium and high voltage cables.
- Sound knowledge of AC and DC drives.
- Sound knowledge of PLCs, SCADA system.
- Sound knowledge of instrumentation systems (P&IDs) and equipment will be advantageous.
- Exposure to a cold rolling tandem mill will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to a coating environment will be advantageous.
- Exposure to old General Electric MG Set systems will be advantageous.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have own, reliable transport to attend to after-hour breakdowns.
