Job description

  • Function as Project Manager for projects and manage capital projects
  • Trouble shoot process and equipment
  • Ensure maximum plant availability and stable plant performance
  • Investigation and solving of plant incidents and RCA
  • Part of the implementation / development and training of any old / new plant maintenance systems
  • Support the drive towards achieving the optimum balance between maintenance availability and maintenance cost
  • Align maintenance drives and activities with corporate maintenance policy and strategy concerning maintenance performance, areas for improvement, maintenance and development needs, maintenance and shutdown planning, discipline in task execution
  • Continuous improving the availability of the plant
  • Technical support to the production section
  • Integrate relevant Engineering disciplines
  • Risk management
  • Business leadership: Planning, Tender Process, Cost control, SAP, Benchmarking and Resource utilization
  • Assist with compilation of strategies for the improvement and maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Identify, plan and implement continuous improvement and modification projects
  • Effective fault-finding and failure analysis as well as implementation of successful solutions.
  • Establish and maintain predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Specialist technical support to the maintenance team
  • Knowledge transfer to maintenance team
  • Maintenance planning
  • Project manage and designer of all continuous improvement projects related to mechanical works

Minimum requirements

Qualification:
  • B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Government Certificate of Competency (Preferable)

Experience and Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' maintenance experience in an industrial environment
