Job description

Job key performance areas
  • Managing the ArcelorMittal strategy to improve throughput and reduce costs
  • Understanding and leveraging the business' strategy and business drivers
  • Supporting the business' process general strategy
  • Manage the Department on sound business principles
  • Managing long term pro-active relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Managing and optimise all costs involved 
  • Active management of SHERQ related duties
  • Coaching and development of managerial levels and high potential candidates
  • Define and optimise quality standards and procedures.
  • Root cause identification followed by the implementation of the appropriate corrective and preventative action.
  • Development and improvement of products and processes
  • Providing technical support to Marketing and Production
  • Compiling of technical reports and presentations.
  • Initiating and managing multiple projects across boundaries
  • Interaction and communication with all stakeholders

Minimum requirements

Qualifications
  • Relevant BEng or BSc Degree (NQF8)
  • Management Development Programme (Preferable)
 
Experience  requirements
  • 15 Years relevant experience in Operations

  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Highly motivated
  • The position also requires that the successful candidate demonstrates good managerial skills
  • Analytical, benchmarking, problem solving, co-ordination and facilitation skills
  • Dynamic, results-driven, with a high energy level completes the profile
