Job description

Responsibilities & requirements
 

·        Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s risk management methodology, policies, and procedures in alignment with Group standards and international best practices. Stay informed of industry developments and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

·        Risk Reporting: Consolidate and present the company’s top risks to the Audit & Risk Committee and Group Risk Management. Participate in Level 1 and Level 2 risk meetings to ensure alignment, challenge mitigation actions, and monitor progress.

·        Loss Analysis: Review loss prevention reports, audit findings, and insurance claim history to identify trends and define short- and medium-term focus areas.

·        Insurance Management: Establish and maintain comprehensive insurance management policies and procedures. Oversee annual insurance renewals in coordination with Group Insurance and local insurance brokers, manage claims, and ensure timely reporting and feedback to both local and Group management.

·        Business Continuity: Design, implement, and sustain business continuity management frameworks to ensure operational resilience.

·        Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders (up to Board level) and external partners to support strategic risk and assurance objectives.

·        Training & Awareness: Conduct training and awareness sessions for Heads of Departments and their management teams on risk management, insurance, combined assurance and control environment topics.

·        Group Coordination: Engage regularly with ArcelorMittal Group Risk Management to facilitate knowledge sharing and benchmarking.

·        SOX Compliance: Support the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control environment by tracking remediation actions, managing the system, and reporting deviations or non-compliance.

·        Integrated Reporting: Coordinate the compilation and publication of the company’s Integrated Report.

·        Audit Remediation: Monitor and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions arising from internal audit findings.

·        Legal Compliance: Update the legal compliance framework for Finance and ensure adherence to controls mitigating legal risks.

·        CSRD Coordination: Lead the coordination of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reporting across relevant business streams.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications & requirements
 

·       Relevant B. Com degree (NQF 7/10)

·       Preferably a Management Development Program

·       At least 8 years’ experience in a financial, controlling, enterprise risk management and insurance management

·       Experience in audit environment with a strong focus on internal controls

·       Experience in enterprise risk management and related insurance management

·       Experience in developing and managing control documents

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
