Job description
Key Performance Areas
- Identification of infrastructure requirements and cross-BU IPS/MRO knowledge collaboration and opportunity optimisation
- Drives business intelligence needs and shares information with peer functions across AMSA for the IPS/MRO category responsible for.
- Supports cross-Plant leverage initiatives and category team collaboration.
- Conducts joint benchmarking and best practice reviews on category management practices.
- Ensures the provision of relevant category information to AMSA plants and personnel.
- Ensures good governance in all aspects of category management and contracts management.
- Drives for continuous improvement in all relevant work processes.
- Ensures the effective integration between category management and other components of procurement such as contract management, daily buying, materials management, and content management.
- Ensures the provision of accurate and timeous information where required, in areas such as:
- Annual budgets
- Spend analysis
- Contracts cost escalation control - Defines supplier performance criteria and systems of measurement; approves performance targets for each supplier in allocated categories and ensures that remedial action is taken in the event of targets not being met.
- Formulates and oversees supplier performance improvement programs for key MRO-related suppliers and ensures that such improvements are included in category strategies.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- B Degree in procurement, business, finance or engineering (NQF7)
- A postgraduate business management qualification is preferred
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years
- Business management experience, of which some must have been in a consulting or influencing role.
- Experience and industry knowledge in IPS/MRO, and related, products and services is essential.
- Prior exposure to category/category management, procurement or an engineering or production environment is highly desirable, as is demonstrated success in managing a multi-disciplinary team in a project-type environment.
- The ability to craft long-term internal and external business relationships, cause and manage change and provide strategic leadership is essential.
